Today my geo buddy and I decided to go for a hike in and around beautiful Mount Wilson. So we drove on the the Bells Line of Road towards Bilpin. Along this road there are a few scattered geocaches, of which this one was the first.

After parking the car in the side street we walked over and started our search at the bus stop. My geo buddy was the first to find the small cache.

After logging we crossed the busy road and then continued our journey to Mt. Wilson.

After finding the first cache, we drove one, but it was not before we had to stop again for the next cache. We crossed the road and again it was my geo buddy who found the cache. After two find, we changed her name to Eagle Eyed Jen.

The third cache of the day was in Bilpin Town. Although, what town? All we could see were a few scattered houses and an old fashioned petrol station across the road. It reminded me of the ones you see in road movies.
After a visit to the petrol station we walked to the cache. On our way we spotted a beautiful red and white mushroom.

The cache was an easy find, this time spotted by me instead of Eagle Eye Jen.

Today my geo buddy and I decided to go for a hike in and around beautiful Mount Wilson. After finding a few caches along the Bells Line of Road towards Bilpin we finally arrived in Mt. Wilson.

The place was invaded with mostly Asian tourists that walked onto the street without looking for any oncoming traffic. I had a Chinese woman walking in front of my car without any intention of letting me pass.
After parking the car we walked along the Avenue of the Trees which looked spectacular in autumn.

But there was also a cache to be found, and even though the GPS was all over the place, we managed to spot the small cache.

Today my geo buddy and I decided to go for a hike in and around beautiful Mount Wilson. After finding a few caches along the Bells Line of Road towards Bilpin we finally arrived in Mt. Wilson.

Once away from the Avenue of Trees, the tourists seem to have disappeared. It was quiet and the parking lot at the start of the Waterfall Track was empty. After finding the right start of the track and we started counting down. Once at GZ, it was my geo buddy who found the small cache.
We then decided to continued the track through the rainforest and underneath the tall trees and tree ferns. The waterfall itself was pretty forgetful. More like a tiny dripping rock ledge. So we headed back up and once at the parking lot we decided to have a picnic. We offloaded the food boxes, the thermos flask and tea mugs and sat down. Immediately we were surrounded by a swarm of wasps and my geo buddy freaked out. We retreated to the car and decided to have lunch someone else.

Today my geo buddy and I decided to go for a hike in and around beautiful Mount Wilson.

What better way to enjoy this Earthcache than combine it with walking the Chinamans Hat and Pheasants Trail? This trail is away from the crowds and the views over the area are magnificent and ends at Pheasants Cave, a hidden, quiet pocket of rainforest where we heard lyre birds singing.

After all answers were found, we drove back to the DuFaur lookout point to watch the sunset. Magical!

Today my geo buddy and I decided to go for a hike in and around beautiful Mount Wilson. After finding a few caches along the Bells Line of Road towards Bilpin we finally arrived in Mt. Wilson.

After a very disappointing walk along the Cathedral of Verns, we drove to the start of the Cathedral Creek Track where we walked to the end of the trail for this small cache. The creek was disappointing, but the rainforest was quite interesting

The cache was an easy find. TFTC All Strung Out..
